August is proving to be a somewhat intense month for the band.
Our recent engagements have seen us perform at the inaugural Hearts & Souls Charity Music Festival at Fall Farm in Hartshead to a large crowd of people. The event helped raise over £8,000 and we were proud to have been part of it.
We returned to Hartshead for their annual Yorkshire Day celebrations too. Pulled pork sandwiches and an ice cream van, along with beautiful skies and supportive crowds made this a lovely evening. We shared this event with three local Morris troops: Persephone, Thieving Magpies and Rainbow Morris. Thank you to all who supported us here.
We have a couple of other events to look forward to this month too – a private wedding function and an afternoon at the Mirfield Show on the 20th August. We will be playing two slots throughout the afternoon. Look out for us!
Following our recent vacancy on second baritone, we welcome to Grange Moor Pip Youds. Pip used to play cornet and tenor horn with Hinchliffe Mill and Honley but took a break from playing when she had her children. We are delighted to have Pip join us.
