This month has been fairly quiet for the band with just this morning’s village harvest festival and a short performance at Grace Landscapes’ Family Fun Day filling our time. The band has also recently purchased 30 new music stands. The band receives no funding other than payments from the various public performances we take part […]
This week we have begun running a small starter group for children in and around Grange Moor to begin learning how to play music. We have had two days working with them so far, and all is going well! Both adults and children are enjoying the work they have done already and we look forward […]
The band are saddened by the news of the death of Raymond Berry. A long-serving member of the band on percussion, Raymond was well-known in Grange Moor and Kirkheaton. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time. We will share details of his funeral once we know about them. In 2014, […]
June and July have been a relatively quiet time for the band as far as performances go. However, we did play at the National Coal Mining Museum’s Annual Miner’s Gala on 29th June. The main band performed two slots and the training band played a final section. Owen Wedgwood, a long time supporter of the band, […]
The band are sad to announce that their trombone and repiano cornet players David and Alison Pickles have left Grange Moor in order to focus their playing efforts with The Lindley Band. Their daughter, Lauren, has also played with us in the past. We would like to thank the family for all of their hard […]

On Saturday 20th September 2014, the band played at the Grand Opening Ceremony of Mirfield Mill Carpets. Over 60 specially invited guests turned up to celebrate the official launch of the town’s latest carpet showroom, run by former member Graham Ervine. The band happily played a range of favourites for the crowd, which included the Emmerdale […]
